LAND SCANDAL.
STATEMENTS FOR THE DEFENCE PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPRRIGHT Sydney, Nov 28. After malting a statement in defence, Crick went into the witness box and swore that from neither Close, Willis, Bath, or any other land agent had he ever received a penny as a politician or a Minister. In cross-examination he gave lengthy details of his land administration, banking, and betting affairs, Willis made a statement that he had never conspired, or made any arrangement, or paid any money to any of the defendants. He claimed that he had conducted a legitimate land agency business, Bath made a statement denying that he had given any money received for land business to Crick or anyone else. The case was adjourned until Monday.
