The annual A. and P. Show opened hero to day in fine weather. Too now grandI stand was opened by tho Hon. R. McNab, and speeches dohvored by Hons. MoNab and O. H. Mills, In tho afiornoan a numI bc-r of deputations waited on ihi Minister I ro State farm lands for settlement, and an I endowment for the local A. and P. Association. The party visited the egg-laying I competition in tho foronooD, accompanied by Mr D. D. Hyde, Chief Poultry Expert. There was an t xoeilent exhibit of fat sheep and Merinos, R. D. Atkinson took first I prize in eovon classes of fat sheep, and F, N. Dillon champion Merino ram, ohamp on Morino ewe, and Eoglish Leicester ram above 18 months ; English Leicester ewe, C. Goulter ; champion Engli-h Lo’o.’tto- ewe, Thor. Hunt ; champion Border Loicaster ram, Chaysor end Oo ; onampiou Lincoln ram, D.
