DEATH OF COLONEL PITT
TRIBUTE FROM NELSON.
PRESS ASSOCIATION
Nelson, last night. At the Court to-day a feeling tribute was paid to the memory of Colonel Pitt, who had pleaded there so many years. Mr Eyre Kenny, W.M., and members of the local branch of the Law Society, testified to the worth of the deceased.
The pall bearers for to-morrow’s funeral aro : Sir Joseph Ward, Hons. McGowan, McNab, and Duncan, Mr C. Y. Fell (Crown Prosecutor), and Messrs B. and P, Moore, partners in tho firm of Pitt and Moore, and Mr Duncan McDonald, sonin law.
Blenheim, last night
Mr McNab paid feeling tribute to the memory of the late Colonel Pitt. The Government would find it difficult to replace him as leader of tho Upper House Deceased had great qualifications for departmental work. Colonel Pitt was a man who never made an enemy—a rare thing in colonial polities.
