PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night, The prospeoius of the Wellington Pub* lishing Company, Lid., has been filed with the Registrar of Joint Siook Companies, The oapital of the company is £IO,OOO, It is understood that tbo company is being fotmad for the purpose of establishing a new morning paper iu Wellington in the Opposition and freehold interests, Waugauui, last night. A little g'rl egad two years ami nine mouths, daughter of Mr E. D. Gray, was run over by o railway engine to night, sustaining compound fracture of she skull and a broken jaw. She was removed to the hospital, but there is little chance of her rcoovcry. Greymouth, last night. The fun9ra! of the late Mr Hairy Smith, Inspector of sohools, took pises to--day, and was very iargsly attended, Deceased was accorded a military and Masonio funeral. The Teachers’ Institute intend starting a fund among the children to raise a suitable monument to hie memory.
