THE PORT STEPHENS.

UNSUCCESSFUL SEARCH. PRESS ASSOCIATION Lyttelton, last night. Tho tug Champion, which left Lyttelton on October 26th in search of the abandoned steamer Port Stephens, returned this morning. The tug encountered dirty weather and very heavy seas for practically' the whole iiuecn days. She went 46 44 south, 170.49 cast on a zigzag course the whole time, but there was absolutely not a sign of the Port Stephens or any other vessel seen during the cruise. Instructions have beeu received to abandon further search. Tho Champion leaves for Newcastle to morrow.
