SOLUTION GIVES ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT.
gpRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT Melbourne, Nov 8. Delightfully fine weather favored the third day of the racing carnival at Flernington. The lawn presented a better _ appearance than on either of the previous days. Backers were successful in the first two races, but had a set-back in the Flying Stakes, laying odds on Solution, who was beaten before the distance was reached. Besults: — November Hurdle Eace, 2 miles— Regret 1, Skibo 2, Stockman 3. Six others started. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.49}. Second Nursery Handicap, 6 furlongs.— Orlet 1, Boastful 2, Verenice 3. Seven others started. A good race between the three, half a head separating each. Time, 1.16. Flying Stakes, weight-for-age, 7 furlongs. —lolaire 1, Lady Wallace 2, Berthier 3. Other starters: Menschikoff, Charles Stuart, Solution, True Scot and Ebullition. : Solution was first away and first round the % turn, lolaire drew past Solution on the T rails, and won by two lengths There was three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, 1.28.1. Carnival Handicap, 1} mile—Tulkeroo 1, Lachlan 2, Melodrama 3, Won by three-quarters of a length, with half a length between second and third. Oaks Stakes, 11 mile.—Yabba Gabba 1, Oreillet 2, Galeria 3, Katanga 4. No others started. Oreillet made the running to the i- straight, where Yabba Gabba passed her, *' and won by two lengths. Time, 2.41}, Veteran otakes, 14 mile.—Misty Morn 1, Proceedor 2, Circuit 3. Won by a length and a half. Time, 2.38}.
