Cycling Without Lights
’(To the Editor Gisborne Times* Sir, —Does “ Viotim ” really mean to infer that a constable would stop him in the day lime for riding without a light ? I hope that the kind of oppression he refers to will he rigidly continued, and if the cyclists of Gisborne oombine at all it is to be hoped that the upshot of it will be that eaeh oyolist will be oompelled to carry a lamp, and thus oease to be a menace and a danger to the unoffending pnblio. 11 Victim ” should know that it is cheaper to bay a lamp than to squander his gold in defending himself in bis own wrongdoing. It is not manly to attaok a pnblio servant whose regulations do not allow him to defend himself in the press. For myself, I have found it cheaper to buy a lamp, and find I oan get along with greater safety both to myself and the public at large.—-I em, etc., ANOTHER VIOTIM,
