A strong nor’-west wind is blowing. Work, which was uninteresting, was all on the plough, and was very fast Multilid, star Rose, and Grenado went once round at half speed, finishing the last half-mile in 48 4-5. Multifid finished very strongly. Signalman and Stratagem did half a "mile in 49 4-5, and Armistice finished a mile strongly in 1.495, and was looking in capital fettle, Gazeley and Boomerang did half a mile in 50sec, Lyrist and Ironmould sprinted the same distance in 49scc. St, Joe and Martello
spurted the last four furlongs of a leisurely mile in Slsec, Ghoorka galloped a mile and a half alone, registering 2,431, Achilles spurted four furlongs easily in 49sec, Notur and Apollodoris taking 51sec for the same distance. Gold Seal was half a length in front of Grand Slam and Moriaritv in a half-mile spin done in 47 3-5 sec. Gold Seal finished well. Zimmerman did four furlongs in 52sec, A
large number of others were given short sprints. No work was done after breakfast.
