CYCLING CASES.
(To the Editor Gisborne Times* Sir,—l think it is nearly time that
oyoliats of Gisborne combined in their own interests to try and end what seems to be a kind of oppression in reference to the recent court actions regarding riding without lights. It seems to ms on reading the account of Friday morniDg’s proceedings that the prosecuting constable has evidently gjne out of his way to prooure a conviction ; as one or other of the parties has stated what is uutrue in reference to the time, further inquires ought to be made, and if the comtaole has stated what is untrue the matter should be referred to tbe Minister ot Justice on the matter. It is most unfair that respectable citizens should have to bear the expense of soltoitora’ iees and tbe loss of lime attending the court when it was in any ease just on the balance of night and day. Members of tbe force must be very Bhort of work when they are compelled to btiDg suoh trivial cases before the court to show that they aro endeavoring to earn Her salaries. —I am, etc., VICTIM.
