THE LOAN BILL.
ONE MILLION TO BE BORROWED (Special to Gisborne Times.) Wellington, last night. The Aid to Public Works and Lands Settlement Bill provides for the borrowing of tbo usual million sterling, and the Treasurer is empowered to pay interest on tbo sum raised at a rate not exceeding per cent. The sohedule of the Bill pro-, vides for the fodewirtg allocations : (1) In respect of railways, including Gisborne-Rotorue. Tosal, £450 OCO ; additional rolling stock of open lines, etc., £75,000.
(2) In respect of land settlement and goldfields development, roadp, tracks, bridgie, otc., £400.000; the like for the purpose of developing the goldfiils, £25,000.
(3) la respect of telegraph extension, £50.000. Total, £1,000,000.
