THE COLONIES CRITICISED.
PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received 5.13 p.m., Oct. 14. London, Oct. 14. Lord Loreburn, at Glasgow, declared that Imperial federation had not received the slightest favor in the colonies, because it involves increased moral responsibility. Fiscal reform would tend to friction, disunion, and breed ill-will in this country. The Mother Country must not make ruinous sacrifices to the colonies. There ought to be no more annexations- The | colonies ought to provide their own defence.
