BOATING DISASTER.
THE FUNERAL. PRESS ASSOCIATION Blenheim, last night. The funeral of tho eight persons drowned in the Maritana disaster on Sunday took place this afternoon, between three and four thousand taking part in tho cortege, including over 150 vehicles half a mile long. The Marlborough Mounted Rflea, the Sobool Cadets, and the Garrison Band were in attendance. The procession left Market place at three o’clock. The bond played the ‘ Garland of Flowers ” and the ‘- Dead Marofa in Saul.” Nash was buried with military honors in the Catbolio oemotery, three volleys beiDg fired over the grave, and the Last Post sounded. The funeral service was conducted in the presence ol the largest gathering over seen at a funeral in Marlborough. The offioiatmg clergymen wore tho Rev. Father Fay, Archdeaoon Graoe (Anglican), Rav. Robb (Presbyterian), and Rov. Penney (Wesleyan). The lasi three delivered impressive ad dresses at tho graveside. Tho coffins were oovered with wreaths, inoludiog one from Mr Mills, member for the district.
