Mrs Carroll’s Gift of land.

Mrs Carroll, wife of the Hon. J. Carroll' has presented the Cook Momoriai Committee with a plot of land on the Haiti beaoh. This action is much appreciated by the oommittee, who think that the land oempiised in this gift will form a nuoleus for a park. Tha following letter of thanks has been forwarded to Mrs Carroll by tho oommiltee:—

Gisborne, Oat. Sib, 1906. Dear Mrs Carroll, I am directed by the Cook Memo« rial Committee to thank you very sincerely for the magnificent gift of land on the Haiti; beach at the site of the memorial. Yciur generous aotioo is greatly appro, oiated by Ilia committee. The donation will form the nucleus of a park, whioh it is hoped may yet exicad throughout tho beaoh rosorvos and Kaiti Hill. This is the end the committee now have in view. Again thanking you for your generosity. Youts faithfully, W. J. P. GAUDIN, Eon. Seo.
