PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, last night. Mr F. M. P. Brookfield, late Crown Proseoutor, died to-day, eged 82. Tbe deoeased gentleman arrived in New Zsaland in the early fifties, and was at one time Judge in tbe Native Land Coutt. New Plymouth, last night. Mr James Paul, a well-known brewer and prominent public oit'zsn, died at 11 o’olock to-night, after a long illness, aged 64 years. lavercargill, last night. The Rev. Geo. L'ndsay, of St. Paul’s, Invercargill, has been nominated by the Southland Presbytery for tho office of Moderator of the General Assembly.
