George Bower Chigoed was charged with having so d an indecent pioture, to wit a pioture of " Psyche's Bath ” and " Payobo at Nature’s Mirror.” Evidence was given by tbe matron of the Dior of Hops and two Salvation Army rep-etentative?, who condemned the pictures. A number of prominent men, inoludiog journalists, clergymen, and teaohers of art, gave evidence for the defence, Stating the piotnres were wo k.i of art in whioh every element of indeoeney bad been excluded. District Judge Kettle reserved his decision.
