MRS W. GREY’B JUVENILE FANCY DRESS BALL,

There was a large and fashionable g-itberii g at His M-jesty’s Theatre last event! g . n tbe oi-c S'un of Mrs W- Grey’s juvenile fanoy dr.es ball Tbe function proved a di-tiuor success There was a arg-; number of young people present, and some very pretty and striking costumes were worn. Tbe floor was io excellent order, and tbe scene in the ballroom throughout tbe evening was an animated one. The music was supplied by Miss Grey (piano) and Mr A. J. Massey (violin), and needless to say notaing was wanting on tbas score. Great praise is doe to Mrs end Miss Grey for tbe state of piofioiency which the young folks showed in their daooing, whilst their general bearing in the ballroom was the Bubjeot of pleasing comment. After tbe grand march a tableau was formed, consisting of 11 Britannia " (Miss N. Davies), two sailors (Masters Piokeu and Orr); " Canada " (Miss E. Gumming), 11 Australia ” (Miss P. Butler), “India ’’ (Mias R. Walker), 11 New Zealand” (Master L. Ringer), and “Royal Navy" Miss Q. Graham). A new square danoe, called “ The Queen’s Quadrille," was introduced into the children's danoes, and was danced by some of the older pupils, The fancy dances included “ Rose and Butterfly " dance by eight little girls : The Misses L. Hawley, T. Jex-Blake, O, and P. Winter, M. Miller, and Thelma an*!. Margaret Kennedy, A gavotte by Misses M. and D. Rees, G. Kennedy, and P. Allen, end Masters P. Davies, T. Nolan, G. Winter, and A, Muir. A oaohuoa (Spanish dance) by Misses Irene Ghrisp and Mary Martin ; a hornpipe by Misses May Riddell and Ivy Parker; a Swedish jig by all tbe pupils.
