PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night. Mr Riddell, S.M.,gave judgment to-day in the actions taken against two hotelkeepers, Thomas Clapham and Edward Fitzgerald, charging them under tbe Licensing Aet and Trades Mark Aot with refilling for sa'e certain wbisky bottles without first destroying the labels thereon, and with applying a false trade description to bottleß of whisky. Defendants were eaoh fined £lO on the seoond part of the oharges. Napier, last night, At the Supreme Court to-day the jury returned a verdict of net guilty in the case of Waiter Henry Wood, a lad charged with arson at Weber.

Obristohurob, last night. At the Polioe Court to-day Georgina Frances Brown, the proprietor of a private nursing home, was oommitted for trial upon a charge of manslaughter, The oase arose out of the death in the home of an infant, who was aoeidentally strangled at birth, the mother at the time being unattended.

Auckland, last night. Advice was received from Rawene yesterday that a young mm named j. Foster was drowned off tbe wharf at Rawena about midnight on Tuesday, land that it was apparently a case of accident. The local constable states that he had dragged the vicinity and searched the banks of the river, hut had been unable to find the body.
