Mr G. W. T ffm wrote that the meeting of tbe Waipaoa and Mangatu Road Boards, btli at Te Karaka on September 4tb, for tbe purpose of dividirg the funds and preparty of tbe two Beards, were unable to arrivo at an agreement in respeot to the division of the liabilities and engag mrels of tbe former Waipaoa Read District. It bad been decided to refer ihe matter to the Council for arbitration/' The Chairman ai d Crs Matthews and Kenway were appointed arbitrators. TELEPHONE LINES.

Permission was granted to Mr W. D. Bruce to erect a now talephono lino on the north side of the Waiohika road. A similar request from tho Wigan settlers was acceded to. ROAD DEVIATION.

HEALTH INSPECTOR’S REPORT,

A lengthy report was received from the Inspector in regard to tbs piggeries belonging to the bufehers of Gieborne.
