SALE AT MATAWIIERO YARDS,
There was p. fair attendance at the Matawhero stock sales yesterday. S ightly over 4000 sheep were vardod. The market was dull, and prices were not so high as at previons sales. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgety and Co. report:—About 700 sheep woro yarded, and sold as follows: 27 ewes and 24 lambs 18s 10J, 40 fat ewrs
16 7d, 62 empty cwos (good line) 19? 7d, 31 do. 17s 34, and 62 do. 15s 4d, 400 hoggets 14?. Fat sheep were in good demand, but store sheep were rather slack.
There was a small yarding of cattle, mostly dairy stock. One beef cow brought L 4 10s, 6 calves22s,3 5, 1 cow in calf L 4 2s 6d, 1 cow in full profit L2, and 1 beef heifer L 4 10?.
Messrs Williams and Kittle and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00. About 3500 sharp woro yarded and prices ruled as under : Twenty prime fat ewes 19s, 167 ewes and 100 lambs 10s 3d, 25 ewes and lambs 18 1, 41 ewe hoggets 14s lOd, 77 ewes and 69 lambs 17s, 59 ewes and 62 lambs 183 9J, 48 ewes and 54 lambs 16s 9d, 29 fat wethers 193 lOd, 17 fat eweß 17s, 8 fat ehe?p 19s 3d, 9 fat ewes d6s 9i, 9 hoggets 30s, 100 choice hoggets 15s 7d, 16 awes and 32 lambs 22s 9d, 6 ewes and 5 lambs 10s 6J, small pen wether hoggets 14s 61, 24 fat ewes 15s 21, 300 hcggaiß 14s sd, 40 evvos and 39 lam'os 133 lid, 174 four-tooth wethers 16s 61.
