SLY GROG CASES.

PRESS ASSOCIATION Dunedin, last night. At Tapanui to-day John Munro and James Robertson were charged with keeping for sale alooholio liquors in the no lioense distriot of Glutha. Mr J. F. M. Fraser, Grown Prosecutor, said Munro was a storekeeper at Kelso, and Robertson lived with and worked for him. A very systematic, somewhat extensive, and exosedingly open trade of sly grog had been carried on. A number of informations had been laid against Munro and hie wife, but as Munro had pleaded guilty all except one oharge would be withdrawn. Mr Sinclair, who appeared for accused, denied that an extersive business had been carried on. When Munro purchased the business he did not thiok there would be any harm in keeping a supply of liquor and treating bis customers occasionally when they paid their aooounts, He had no idea of sslliDg, but he found that when customers had a second nip they would insist on paying for it. Liquor was not supplied except to customers at the store. There wis no profit to speak of. Mr Oruickshank, S.M., fined Munro £4O aud Robertson £49, with costs £4 6s 2d,
