GOLLAN WINS THE CHAMPION SHIP.

Tho final round of tho Now Zealand golf championship was played at tho Shirley links hotwoon H. H. Gollau, Napier, and W. L. 1). Harman, Ohiistehuroh, ovor a SO-holo course. Tho weather vvnß dull but oaim, and vory satisfactory for good play. At tho end of tho 18th holo Goliad was 6 up, and ho won tho championship at tho 29„h holo by Bup and 7to play. Both playod a vory long game, but Hurmau was much weaker than Gollan in his ip. proaohing and putting, and lost holoß on that acoouut. Tho first helo was won by Gollan in 5, and tho next two woro halved, Gollan won tho 4th and tho Gtb, and tho 6th and 7th woro hulvod. Tho Bsh was won by Gollan; tho 9th was halved ; tho 10th was won by Gollan, and tho 11th tind 12th woro hulvod. Gollan won tho 18th. Tho 14sh was halved ; tho 15th was won by Gollan, and tho 16ih halved. Harman won his first holo at tho 17th, but lo=t tho 18th. At tho 19th tho holo was halved m 5, and tho 20th halved in 4. Gollau won tho 21st by 5 to 6, aud tho 220 d by 3 to 4. Tho 23rd was halved in 4; tho 24,6 halvod iu 4, and tho 25th was halvod in 7. Gollan won tho 26th in 4, and tho 27th was halvod in 0. Tbo 28th was won by Harman iu 3, and tho 29th was halved, Gollan thus winning by 2 up and 7 to play.
