A oonferencs took plaee this morniDg between the parties and their solioitors, but what occurred has Dot been allowed to transpire, and when the Dock Trust met this afternoon the matter was taken in committee, Oa resuming the following motion was adopted : “That as the contractors are not exeroising due diligence or making due progress with works to the satisfaction of the engineer, noiica be given under olause 17 of ihe general conditions of contract, Bnd that the Trust give such notice accordingly,” Ths purport of the motion is that if the contractors do not resume work at tho now Dock within seven days, the Trust may take up the work and carry them on at the contractors’ risk,
