ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.

The Orchestral Society’s Concert for next Thursday evening is exciting com siderablc interest in musical circles, as the Society is in really strong playing tune this year, the whole instrumental talent of the place practically joining forces in an unanimous effort to give a really good instrumental concert This is as it should

be, and there is no reason why Gisborne should not maintain an orchestra equally as good as some of the larger towns of the Colony. It only requires the encourage, ment and support of the community in patronising the concerts of an institution such as this, as nothing is so healthful and elevating to the mind and gives so much pleasure as the practice and performance of instrumental music in which player and listener equally participate. A strong pro. gramme lias been prepared and the plan is now open at Miller's, and it is hoped the musical people of Gisborne will accord the Society a bumper house on Thursday evening.
