MARYREBONE CLUB REFUSES XO SEND TEAM.
PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Keoeived 5.15 p.m., Sept. 9. London, September 8. The Marylebona meeting was well attended. Mr Jackson and Lord Jersey were present. The latter represented the Australian views. Mr Carruthers’ talegram was discussed. The committee decided that it was too late to make the necf s3ary arrangement. If the Beard oi Control receive an invitation for 1907! it will do its beet to send a team. The Chronicle states that the deoision is the only one compatible with reason and dignity. The invitation was too late to secure a satisfactory combination. The Mail states that the decision was a foregone conclusion. The Sportsman states that the Board would be ill-advised if it accepted an immediate team under private management, 'thereby possibly jeopardising the practical certainty of an official 'combination for 1907. Tbe Westminster Gazette states that it is still possible a private team will start. The Fall Mall Gazette regrets the deoi* sion, though it considers it almost ins evitable.
