There ie every proepeet of a general lookout in Maitland district, the miners failing in negotiations for the abolition of the working of dog watch at the pits on Sunday nights. The Kuri Kuri mioers gave a fortnight’s notice, which terminates at midnight to-night. This notice directly affects two hundred and seventy-five men, but reports from Newcastle to-night state that the owners are determined if the men refuse to work dog watch that they will not be allowed to enter the pits tc-morrow morning. This mean the idling of about two thousand men.
