It mentions that the Friendly Group are in a straight line between Sydney and Colon, and are destined after the opening of the canal to attain an importance similar to that of Singapore. It reminds Britain of the danger of snpineness, and emphasises the growing activities of Australia’s foreign neighbors. It remarks that Germany has been guided in the acquisi* tion of islands inoludiog important naval stations by a definite plan of action to* WBrds ultimate co-ordination with Dutoh possessions, should Holland enter into political oommtmion with Germany.
