THE EXHIBITION.

PRESS ASSOCIATION -Christchnrob, last night. The weekly offioial report of the New Zealand International Exhibition • states that fifty.five cases of exhibition fireworks from Messrs J. Paine and Co., London, arrived at Port Chalmers last week by the e.s. Rangatira. The fireworks were dis* oharged into tbe megazine at Port Chalmers, whence they will be railed direct to tbe Exhibition grounds. It has been definitely Bottled that ths photograph of the holder of each season ticket will be affixed therein. After considerable discussion on the merits or different systems which have been adopted, this one has been finally deoided upoa. The Minister in charge of the Exhibition has approved of tbe expenditure of 150 guineas for the best district displays oa the lines suggested by tbe AgrL cultural and Pastoral Committee of the Exhibition.

By the s.s. Zsa'aedia there arrived a number of exhibits from the Cook Islands for the Exhibition, These exhibits in* olude a canoe, a large number of mats, a very long spear'of considerable age (and consequently much prized by tbe owner); also two c>ses of curios, a kumeti, and a oase of model cauoes.
