OBITUARY.
Special to the Times. Auckland, last night.
“A well kaown resident of the Waikato and Auckland passed away yesterday in the person of Mrs Frederick Gaudin, who died at her residenoo, Wynyard street, at the Bge of 58 years,” says the Auckland Star. “The deceased oame to New Zealand as a girl in 1863, and resided in the Waikato for many years, subsequently oomiog to Auckland. She is survived by her husband, three sons, and two daughters, the sone being Messrs F. E. N. Gaudin, of the firm of G. Kronfeld ; W. P. Gaudin, of the Gisborne Times ; and T. GUudiD, of the Waikato. Toe daughters are Meadames M. M. MoOallum, of Auokland, and Nixoa, of Hamilton. Mrs Gaudin had been in ill for some little time, and about a month ago a seriouß operation was performed by Drs Savage and Gordon, bat despite all that medieal oate and at« tention could suggest she gradually sank, expiring yesterday afternooD. The interment, a private on", took place at Purewa this afternoon. Mrs Gaudin was highly respeoted by all who knew her, and ainoere sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.’
