PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, last night. At Pantnure yesterday tho charred remains of a man were found in tho burned debris of a email hut. The occupant was a middle-Bged man named Henry Martin, said to have been rather cccentrio. He

lived a lonely life at Panmurp, returning there in the evening from the city, where he was engaged as a j aweller's engraver. It is supposed Marlin was lying in bed reading, and wont to sleep, leaving the candle or lamp alight. It is believed tho unfortunate man has relatives in DonediD.

In connection with the foregoing message, Mr W. Fraser, who knew Mr Martin woil, informs ns of the sad coincidence that a brotbor of the deceased also met his death by burning, being one of the victims of tho Octagon fire at Dunedin, by which nine lives were lost.
