PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night. Captain.A. Monro, sailing master of tho dredge Whakararo, has been appointed wharfinger to tho Wellington Harbor Board. There wore eixty-nino applicants for tho position. A decroo nisi was granted in each of tho following divorce cases to-day: Harriot Cock v George Cock, drunkenness, cruelty and failure to maintain ; Alice Harrison v, Job Harrison, failure to comply with an order for restitution of conjugal rights; Kathleon Grinton v. David Grinton, adultery ; Robert W. Munro v. Lydia M. Mnnro, desertion ; M. A. Whitburn v Jas. H. Whitburn, adultery ; Mary A. Day v. Frederick W. Day, adultery. In the action Sophia Harriet Howat v. Charles Ilowart, an application for restitution of oonjugal rights, au order was made as requested. The City Council to-night decided to prooeed with tho election of a muoioipil abattoir.'

Miss Francis Bulfia, fourth daughter of a farmor at Tuapeka West, died, from the [fleets of an injury received from a trap aeeidoot. She was returning homo with two Bisters from a surpass party, when the horse she was driving shied, and the wheels going into a rut, tho three girls weie thrown out Two escaped with scratches and bruitoi, but the other one was injured internally, and died four days after the accident.
