STATE ASKED TO PAY fIOO.OCO. PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellii gion, las* night. An old olaim by Jar. Carson, priater, of Wellington, upon the Government wi'h reference lo certain property in the Chatham Islands has been revived. It was served upon the Premier on the 17th inst., claiming judgment for j£lol,ooo, and the Crown Solicitor has fked a motion for its dismissal, on the grounds that the action is frivolous and vexatious, aid an abuse of tho procedure of the Court, and that tho statement of claim disolosts m causo of action, or alternatively no c<use of action against ihs defendant (.the Premia). The motion will bo a'gued biforo the Chief Justice on Friday.
