Brennan, with sixty minutes’ start, acted as pioneer for the first few miles, but Merriok, with forty minutes’ start, went to the front before Bowenfells was reached, and was leadiog at Parramatta. Larcombe, still v>ith five minutes, rode strongly and finely, and making a grand finish, passed him, and landed a winner by three minutes. The roads proved too heavy for a number of riders, and others gave up owing to ecoidents to their rmohinee. The winner scoured the prize for fastest ticno.
