LABOR TROUBLES.
STRIKES IN INDIA,
PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Calcutta, August 16. A widespread strike is in -progress on the East Indian railway, Calcutta, the natives demanding the same salaries as Europeans. Other labor disturbances are reported, the result of organised agitation. Five hundred postmen have struck in Bombay for an increase of wages, The service is paralysed.
