J MiliSS ASSOCIATION ! Ma3terton, last night. Tho football miteh, Caitsrbury v. Wairarapa, wag pliyed at Masterion today. Tug g ouod was heavy, but tho weather was fin--, and a kionly contested gatna resulted. In tho first spell Gray scored for Gir-krbury, an] Fraser con* verisd. il trvilic scored a try for Waira* raps, which was not converted. In tho sroond spsil Egon and Fryer soored tries for Canterbury, Fraser converting both. Darvillo and Ma-~oa scored tries for Wai rarap3, noither being converted. Tbs final score was Gintarbury 15 points, YVairarapa 9. Wairarapa was slightly superior in tho forwards, but tho Canterbury backs handled tho ball better than the local I team, The visitors throw ibo ball about io a manner that astonished the on- I lookers. Their tries wero tho outcome of splendid passing rushes. Darvillo and Logan wore tho pick of the Wairarapa backs, and Spademan, Gray, and Sender* son of the forward?. Fryer, Frosor, and Ford wero tho best of the Canterbury backs. The forwards all played well. Mr ] F. Laws, of Wellington, was referee. ]
