Mr Ramsay McDonald said that in the event of his paying a visit to the oolonies it would be in a personal capacity, without strictly official credentials. He hoped to talk with leading men on all sides in the colonies and gain a better understanding of the circumstances and difficulties and discover analogies between their conditions and ours; also to impart information contributing to fuller knowledge of the problems affaoting Britain. Laborites iu the Motherland and iu the colonies had many common t’B3 and interests. It would be usefal to enquire whether plans associated with the arbitration laws, which were apparently working well in New Zaalaod, are adapted under different oircumstanc’s to Britain. He would inquire into the various schemes of land settle ment, and also on the question of minimum wage.
