NEW STEAMERS
I'IIESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, Saturday. The Union Steam Sbip Company has arranged with Caird and Co., of Qlasgow, for the constrnction of anew vessel for the I intercolonial trade. She will be of 6000 tons register, and will be similar in type to the Moeraki. Mr Mills, managing direotor of the Company, now at Home, has also arranged with Denny Bros,, of Dumbarton, for the eonstrnotion of a turbine steamer of 3000 tons for the Wellington-Lyttelton service. Both vessels will be completed in bout a year from dote,
