The president (the Hon, G. F. Richardson) said tbero was a strong fooling in Auckland that that centre and other obief cities of tho colony should be represented on the Counoil and Examination Board. The question of unde.cutting had also been ta'ked about a good deal. That, he thought, had been met by the d c’sion as to altering the headline of the scale of chargee. A third ma ter to wbioh he attaobed importance was that they should i determine how far it wad legitimate to employ unlicensed men as as.-istants. An informal disoussion followed in cdhnrction with the last matter, and it was agreed that it would be desirable for all assistants to have to pass a preliminary examination to be licensed ; also, that assistants should be I'inited. It was also agreed; that plans for lsnd transfer wotk should; remain tbo property of the surveyor, and' that no dealing! in rospeot to land should be registered or any title issued until plans be released,
