Dragoons and police charged a meeting of three thousand peasants discussing the land question in the village of Kochetova, province of Tamboff. Private telegrams state that they killed eighty. The official despatch says one was killed
Terrorists at Warsaw footed twenty spirit Btores in throe days. A wholesale murder of police is reported at Lublin. Ten were shot.
An attempted assassination of Count Vodleben, aide to tho Czar, just failed. Reoeivod 10.31 p.m., July 20. St. Petersburg, July 20.
Tho Russian Foreign Office and German and Austrian Embassies at St. Petersburg declare they are unaware of any intention on the part of Germany and Austria to intervene in regard to Poland. They do not believe the story. M. Petrunkevitch referred to the report in the Douma, protesting against the ignominy of German troops occupying Russian territory. Tho temper of the Russian Court and Government has become markedly reactionary. The dismissal of the Douma ond declaration of a dictatorship is seriously discussed. The Ministry declared that tho Douma’s threat to appeal to the people on the agrarian question is preliminary to rebellion, M. Potrunkovitob, on behalf of Constitutional Democrats, is trying to induce the Douma to be more moderate.
Speakers on the extreme left affirmed that the patience of the people was ended.
