CRICK’S TRIUMPH.
By telegrapl, Pcua An’** Copyright Sydney, July 12. The Premier intends to move that Mr Crick bo suspended until the charges against him have been decided by the Court,
The Herald says the Asstmbly seemed t) be paralysed at the very thought of dealing with Crick, thoogh the report of its own Commission condemned him. Neither the Speaker nor tho Government nor the Assembly seemed capable of rising to the oooasion. The Government hedged and quibbled, Bnd sought to make it dear that the proper way would be to give the Law Courts precedonoe, while in effect holding Crick by the collar. Nothing more hollow or pitiable oould be imagined The Daily TeFgraph says that Parliament has virtually banded over tbo oustody of its honor to a magistrate, who may or may not pass it on to a jury, promiscuously selec'od. The great anti-olimax, however, is that the Premier now proposes to penalise the innocent constituents by suspending Mr Crick until the Courts give their decision.
Reoeived 11,23 p.m , July 12,
Mr McGowan has given notipa of a motion for Tuesday to oensuro the Government for failing to vindicate the honor and dignity of Parliament. The House adjourned. There is a good deal of foiling in MinistfFal circles ovor the aotion of Government lasi night.
