Tbe Niw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., are in reoeipt of tha following cable from their London offic?: " Sa'es opened at an average decline from last sales. Merino par to Id per lb, orossbred slips Id to Id, greasy crossbred market unchanged. Attendance at sales is good.”
PBIOES AFFECTED BY POOR SELECTION.

There was a joint catalogue of 10,040 bales, a very poor selection, including 2883 bales of Puntas, and 1100 bales of New Z aland wool damaged by fire and water. There waß a hrg- attendance and fair competition.
