The Premier, Mr Price, got into hot water over a speeoh be delivered at Mount Gambier, defending the Labor party, against oharges contained in a circular issued by the womenls branob of the Farmers’ Political Association, • oharging the party with seeking to weaken the marriage tie and destroy family life. Mr Prioe used words to the (Sect that the dirty birds were not to be found among the Labor party, but they found that the ladies’ committee of Mount Gambier took such men to their homes.
Replying to a request for an explanation from the President of the Assooiation, Mr Prioe stated that ho had no intention to cast a slur on tho character of any women, bnt to attack certain men belonging to the Association’s side in politics. The President has now written that the explanation is unsatisfactory, and demanding a full apology, pending a meeting of the Assooiation to consider further notion.
