Pi erson, thjs Mayor mado a short speeoh highly eulogising tho woik of the Salyaliiou Army and wishing them success jo the work locally. Ths Revs Cbatterton and Patorson, and Messrs W. Lissant Claylon and Whinray endorsed the remarks of tho Mayor, and then a song was given by the Sa vation songsters, who rendered with excellent effect " .God bless my boy tc-afght ” Captain Slattery, on beba f of 11 e Army, returned tbaiks to the Mayer and visitors for their preienos that evening, and also acknowledged the many kindnesses shown towards hi ins. if and the local corps.. The meeting plosed wish hymn and praise, and a vote of thanks to the Mayor aud visitors.
