London, June 25,
The Tribune states that one thousand meetings have already been held demanding the release of Miss Billington, the female suffragist- who went to prison for assaulting a police officer. The paper condemns the magistrate’s vindictiveness and demands Mr Asquith’s resignation. Ten women suffragists were ejected from a Liberal meeting at Manchester.
