B/telegraph, Press A*s’n, Copyright Sydney, June 21. The captain of the Buoknall liner Pondo, wbiob has arrived at Newcastle, stated* referring to the new Canadian-New Zeay land service, that it had been arranged be his line, in addition to cargo, that the steamers should oarry mails, and each country should pay a subsidy of £IO,OOO par annum. The new servioe will probably include some Australian ports, that is if sufficient inducement offers. The steamers Pondo and Buoentor are taking op the running in the new line. The Pondo loads bunker coal, and then proceeds to New Zealand. Melbourne, Jane 21. The Federal Government has praclcally completed negotiations for a new English mail contract. It is understood that neither the Peninsular nor Orient Companies have seourod tho contract. Apparently a new line is about to pnter the trade.
