GOLD ROBBERY.

Dunedin, last night. A robbery of gold is reported from Alexandra. The Golden Beach dredge oeased work as usual at midoigbt on Saturday, and one of the orew remained for two hours, and left everything safe. The manager visited the dredge after breakfast on Monday, and fonn l the gold-box had been cleaned out. Traces of gold were found in the streaming down box and on deok. It is not known how much the thieves scoured. The dredge is worked by Water power, and is almost the only one in the district on which a thief oould have washed up.
