GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER.
[ (P«r Press Association.} Napier, last night. At the Suprome Court Con. Boyle was found guilty of manslaughter for causing, by his negligent driving, the death of Mary Jane Daniel. The jury added a strong recommendation to mercy. Sentecco was deferred,
1q his addroßß to the grand jury His Honor said that there was a charge of manslaughter under peculiar circumstances against one prisoner. The man was driving a buggy with some young women in it, and when goiDg down a hill he acted recklessly, galloping down without a bratro, in order, it was alleged, to give the occupants a fright, There was no [ doubt that through his reckless driving one of the young women in the trap met her death. Had the man intended to kill the woman he would have been guilty of murder, but that wa3 not suggested. If he so acted as to be utterly regardless of what might have happened then ho was guilty of manslaughter,
