MR MOORE’S CHARGES.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. At the meeting of the Hospital Trusses this morning, Mr F. T. Moore withdrew his motion for the appoiolment of a Rcyal Commission to irquire inlo the nature of tbe sources of Wellington’s uuat supply, and ho said he considered that tbe matter was one for tho Legislature, rather than fer tho trustees.
Later.—At tho meeting of the Hospital Trustees, Mr Moore, who had moved in the direolion of an inquiry into the meat supply of the city, in withdrawing his motion stated that in moving as he had dene, he had the satisfaction of knowing that he had been able to deal one of the greatest evils in New Zealand a slap in tbe faoe, and so far his word had been the full measure of resentment on the part of .he meat companies, the acting Premier (the Hon. W. H,.!i Jonte), and the chief leterinarian He felt sure that tbe measure of reform which must follow his disclosure would be for the beuifit of toe people of NewZnland It would ulti-. ma oly a-sure that they wou.d get nothing but the beet meat for consumption. It would also resuit in the peop ! e of New Zealand getting meat at Irsier rates than the exorbitant prices now charged.
