dition, with great weakness and swelling of the lower limbs, duo to want of fresh vegetables. It is doubtful if the men arc suffering from beriberi or scurvy. Dr, Frcngley, Health Officer, is endeavouring to have the vessel brought to Auckland, so that the sufferers can be treated

properly. The vessel is 81 days out from Tarrahyba, South America, bound for Tonga.
