DRUNKEN MAN RESCUED FROM FLAMES

(Foi Presa Association.) Dunedin, last night.

The fire brigado were called out for two small fires. One last night wes in a small cottage behind Knox Chutoh Bunday school buildings. The occupant, an old maD, was so drunk that he had to bo pulled out of the building, and was at onoe looked up. This morning, as the brigade was proceeding to a fire in William street, the horses Bwerved in turning tha corner of Princes and High strcc’s, and crashed into the buildiog on tho corner with snoh force (hat one of the horses was killed. The firemen on the carriage were hurled out on to tho footpath, and several were sevorely cut and btuised. Tho worst sufferers were Foreman Carrington and Juuo, tho driver. After the injuries of the men had been attended to they were sent to their homes, and no Berious results are anticipated,.
