PUBLIO OFFICER FALLB DEAD FROM BICYCLE.

Mr R. H. Riddell, Deputy-Registrar of Deeds, dropped dead off bis bicycle this afternoon, when 03 cling on the Petane road He bad gone out for a ride, and was found by a mot iris', hi- biovo e being etil grasped in his band. H-ort failure is supposed to have been the cause of death. Hokitika, Saturday.
James Davidson, egad 72, an old pioneer of the Want Coast, was found dead in his bod at Ssafford this morning He had been ailiug for some little time past,

George Rose, son of a small grezmg runholder ai Wsitahuna, died from tbe effects of exposure and exhaustion. He was overtaken in a snowstorm on Waita huna heights whilo rabbiting.
